Salzburg, the UNESCO heritage old town, is undoubtedly one of the magical old towns in the world. But finding the perfect accommodation when visiting Salzburg can be a challenge.

The Altstadthotel Kasererbräu ticks all these boxes. It’s a four-star hotel and situated right in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town, and it offers the perfect base for exploring the city.

From the hotel, you can easily walk to iconic landmarks such as the Fortress Hohensalzburg, Salzburg Cathedral, and Mozart’s Birthplace. Other attractions are conveniently reachable via the city’s excellent public transport network.

Unique History of Altstadthotel Kasererbräu:
Once you enter the hotel, you will feel that you have stepped into history. The Altstadthotel Kasererbräu was established in 1342 by the monks of Reichenhall as a religious accommodation.

Two centuries later, it turned into “Wine House of the white life and it was called Kasererbräu for the first time in 1775. The Giebisch family took over the hotel in 1908 and maintained it with hospitality and tradition for over 100 years.

The hotel takes you back to the time of the Roman Empire, where they had a temple in 2 A.D., and you can still admire the historic wall in the Roman hall of the hotel’s cinema. The hotel also hosted many well-known celebrities.

While walking in the hallways of the hotel, you can feel the long history of the hotel.
Junior Suites in Altstadthotel Kasererbräu:
Our Junior Suite was located on the first floor of the hotel and was a spacious room, around 35 square meters, with a beautiful ambience.

The ceiling featured elegant baroque-style embellishments, adding a touch of historic charm. The suite’s furniture was antique yet luxurious, reflecting the long history of the hotel.


We had a quite big desk, a comfortable sofa, and a television. The bed was very comfortable, with soft bedding. One of the highlights of our room was the private Whirlpool, and it was truly a relaxing experience.

There are different room options available in the hotel, including the Suite Hohensalzburg Fortress, Junior Suite, Deluxe Plus, Deluxe, etc. You can select the room based on your preference and budget.

Breakfast at Altstadthotel Kasererbräu:
When you’re away from home, whether it's a private or a work trip, there’s no better way to start your morning than with a healthy, hearty breakfast.

The Altstadthotel Kasererbräu offers a breakfast with different options, including freshly baked cakes, donuts, fruits, cheeses, eggs, and cold cuts.

There are different sections with different assortments, such as freshly baked croissants, fresh fruit salad, and vegetables. They also have a collection of different coffees and hot chocolates which you can enjoy with breakfast.

Even though the restaurant was quite crowded with guests, the food was continuously refilled, and the hospitable staff made sure that you got all you needed.

Mozart Kino Experience in Salzburg:
One of the unique experiences in Altstadthotel Kasererbräu Salzburg is their in hotel cinema. The famous Mozart Kino in Salzburg is located inside Altstadthotel Kasererbräu.

The Cinema is around 120 years old, and has been showing films since 1905, making it one of the oldest cinemas in the world.
The cinema hosted many famous premieres and stars, including Romy Schneider, Luis Trenker, Maria Schell, and even Queen Frederica of Greece.

During the renovation of the cinema in 1987, the Roman walls dating back to around 200 AD were discovered beside the main screen, now preserved in the “Roman Hall.”

The cinema has two different screens and features different movies, including some English shows aswell every day. During your stay at the hotel, you can enjoy the cinematic experience in one of the world's oldest cinemas in the world.

Relaxing Sauna and Rooftop Terrace:
The hotel also has a Sauna where you can unwind and relax during your trip in Salzburg. You can also book a massage - they also have a masseuse in the hotel.
From the rooftop terrace, you can also enjoy the view of the Salzburg old town.

In-house Library:
The hotel also has a small in-house library where you can find an exclusive selection of diverse books.
