Our Experience at Hektor Container Hotel:
We stayed at the unique Hektor Container Hotel in the heart of Telliskivi design district, Tallinn, for three nights. It’s a smart hotel. We got an email two days from the hotel before our stay with an option to check in Online.
It’s a very simple 3-step process to add your details, credit card information, and check-in. Once you complete your check-in process, you get the code to access the hotel entrance, room, and other hotel parts. There’s also a possibility to do a self-check-in at the hotel reception.
In our case, we checked in at the hotel lobby bar and got the code on our email to access the hotel. The same code is valid to access the different areas, including the room and main entrance.
The hotel's entrance is huge, it’s an open reception along with a lobby bar. There is a tall bar table with stools and comfy sofas to enjoy the coffee and snacks.
The lobby bar is the best place to mingle with fellow travelers and like-minded people. It’s such a nice and open place where we met people who were also staying at the hotel and traveling worldwide.
On the other side of the lobby, there’s another lounge where we find different board games. It’s a good place to spend and chill after a long day exploring the city.

The hotel is very safe and comfortable. To enter the Hektor Container’s zone, we need to enter our code, and then we can enter the containers from the lobby.
What an astonishing experience to see hundreds of containers together and forming a hotel room. The hotels have over 80 container rooms and two floors (ground and first floor). The stairs are taken to the first floor.

Our container room has a double-queen-sized bed with a full window to see outside the container room. In winter, Tallinn is usually very gloomy and sunrises around 9:15, but the hotel has bright lighting during the day; when we open the windows, it seems like the sun is shining.
The hotel truly focuses on environmental sustainability but does not compromise the guests' comfort. Our room wasn’t huge, but it was so comfortable and cozy. It has drawers under the bed which could also fit your suitcase, clothes and other stuff and there was also a workstation and LED TV.

You can also find a funky wall that states some cool facts about the containers e.g. our container room looks small, but it could fit in 420,000 iPhones. There’s also another wall with hangers where you can hang your jackets and coats.
At the entrance of the container room, there’s a door to the personal bathroom with all the required amenities like a Hair dryer and towers. As the hotel promotes sustainable travel, they haven’t stuffed the room with many amenities but can get what you need on request from the hotel You can also find all-in. Breakfast at Hektor Container hotel:
Are you a fitness freak and want to continue eating healthy during your vacation? Good news for you! You can get a healthy breakfast at the hotel’s lobby bar, but you must pre-book a day before.
The break includes a grilled cheese sandwich. Chia pudding or homemade granola with yogurt. Fresh juice, coffee, and tea. If you aren’t a morning person and like to wake up late, you can still get breakfast till 14:00.

Apart from that, there’s also a living area with a comfortable sofa and bean bag seats. It also has green carpet grass and artificial trees, which gives an impression that you are sitting outside.
